My reactions..
I will start off with King's "Letter From Birmingham Jail”. This letter made a huge impact to the society. It was long but it was filled with dreams, desires, anger, concern, and mixed feelings about how the white society has been treating the colored people. He was right about how the other countries have already dealt with this issue; the Asians and the other countries cared less about racial differences, so why can’t the colored people. In his letter, he expressed his anger with the policemen who didn’t treat colored people fairly. Even in his jail, he said that the letter would have been shorter if he could write it properly. All he wanted to express and show to the society is an equal treatment among the colored people because they too have feelings and emotions, and therefore, are people too.
King’s “I Have A Dream” was a powerful and meaningful speech for it abolished racial segregation completely in that era. It is said that everyone should live with freedom because everyone has equal rights. The message wasn’t only addressed to the people in that time but also to the future generations.
